The initiative aims to ensure that every child in the country acquires the necessary basic literacy and numeracy skills by the end of Grade 3 by 2026-27. Launched under the aegis of the centrally sponsored scheme Samagra Shiksha, the mission aims to provide access to children in the foundational years of schooling and retain them in school; teacher capacity building; development of high quality and diverse student and teacher resources/learning materials; and tracking each child’s progress in achieving learning outcomes.
